Snow foam goes on first. It softens the grit so the wash mitt doesn't drag it across the paint.

A rinse carries the foam and the dirt away from top to bottom, before anything touches the car.

A machine polish takes out swirl marks and light scratches, one panel at a time.

A ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat, so water beads up and rolls off and takes the dirt with it.

Services and prices
What we do, and what it costs.
Prices are for a car or small coupe, before HST. SUVs and minivans add $40, and pickup trucks add $60. We confirm the exact price by text before the day.

Interior detail
Seats and carpets are steamed and extracted, leather is cleaned and conditioned, and every vent, seam and cup holder is done by hand.

Exterior wash and wax
Snow foam, a two-bucket hand wash, iron remover on the wheels, and a carnauba wax that keeps the paint beading for about two months.

Paint correction
A machine polish that takes out most swirl marks and light scratches. A two-step correction for darker or older paint starts at $799.

Ceramic coating
Includes a one-step polish first. The coating is rated for five years, keeps the gloss and makes the car much easier to wash.

Headlight restoration
Both headlights are wet sanded, polished and sealed with a UV coat, so they stay clear instead of yellowing again within a year.

Engine bay clean
Electrics are covered first, then the bay is degreased with low pressure steam, and the plastics and hoses are dressed.
Paint correction
The same door, before and after a two-step correction.
Swirl marks are fine scratches in the clear coat, mostly from automatic car washes and drying with the wrong towel. A machine polish levels the clear coat around them, so light reflects evenly again and the colour looks deep.

Do you need my water or power?
No. The van carries 200 litres of water and a battery power pack, so we can work in a driveway, a workplace lot or a condo visitor spot. If there's an outdoor tap close by, we'll ask to use it and save our tank for the next car.
How long does a detail take?
An exterior wash and wax takes about an hour and a half, and a full interior detail takes about three hours. Paint correction is a five to eight hour job. A ceramic coating takes a full day, and the car has to stay dry overnight, so we book coatings in a garage or an underground spot.
Can you work in my condo's parking garage?
Usually, yes. Interiors are fine almost anywhere. For washes in a garage we use a rinseless wash, which needs about 10 litres of water and doesn't run onto the floor. Some buildings still say no, so check with your property manager before you book, or ask us to call them.
What happens if it rains?
Interior details go ahead in the rain. For washes, polishing and coatings, we watch the forecast and text you the day before if it looks wet. You can move to the next open day, or keep the booking if you have a garage we can work in.
Do you work through the winter?
Yes. From December to March we do interiors anywhere, and exterior washes in a garage or on days above about 3 degrees. Salt and slush are hard on carpets, so a spring interior detail is a good idea after a Durham winter.
How do I wash my car after a ceramic coating?
Wait one week before the first wash. After that, use a pH neutral car shampoo with two buckets, and skip automatic washes that use brushes. Every coating includes a free check at six months, where we look at how it's beading and top it up if needed.
