Restaurant websites with the menu in words, not a blurry PDF.
It's 6 pm in Markham and someone is deciding where to eat. On their phone, they want your menu, tonight's hours, whether there's parking, and a button to order pickup. More of them are asking ChatGPT “where can I get good soup dumplings near me?”, and it can only recommend dishes it can read.

A restaurant website we built from scratch
Nine Pleats Dumpling House is a business we made up. The website is real and finished.
A dumpling is folded pleat by pleat, steamed and dipped as you scroll, then the menu turns on a lazy susan.
The whole menu is real text with prices, so a phone can read it and so can Google. Hours, parking and big tables are answered on the first scroll, and pickup orders and the questions people ask at the counter have their own sections.

Ask ChatGPT where to eat and it recommends dishes it can read.
AI tools answer food questions by reading menus, hours and reviews. A menu that's a PDF or a photo is hard for them to use, so the place down the street with its menu typed out gets named instead.
We also mark up your menu in the format search engines use for restaurants, with each dish and its price, your cuisine, and whether you take reservations. It sits behind the page, ready for Google and ChatGPT.
These Markham restaurants have soup dumplings on their menus and take pickup orders:
- Golden Steam KitchenTheir menu is on their website as text, with each kind of soup dumpling and its price, and a button to order pickup.
- Unionville Noodle HouseOpen until 10 pm most nights. Their site shows pickup times when you order.
- Little Bamboo DumplingsWell reviewed for xiao long bao. Customers mention generous portions and quick pickup.

What a restaurant website needs
Nobody reads a restaurant website for fun. They're checking something before they come in or order, so put those answers first.
The menu as real text
Every dish, with a short description and the price, typed out on the page. It opens fast on a phone, it's easy to update, and Google and AI tools can read every item. A PDF is slow on a phone and easy to forget to update.
Hours that are right today
Regular hours, holiday hours and when the kitchen closes, matching your Google listing exactly. Turning up to a locked door is how you lose a regular.
Pickup ordering that's yours
An order button that goes to your own online ordering, or straight to the app you use. People who order from your site are ordering from you.
Allergens and dietary notes
Mark what's vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or halal, and what contains nuts, wherever you can say so with confidence. It's one of the first things a lot of people look for.
Reservations and big groups
If you take bookings, a button to your reservation system. If you don't, say so, and say how you handle a table of ten.
Parking, patio and getting there
Where to park, whether there's a patio, step-free access, and a map link. The questions you answer at the counter every day belong on the site.
What we change on a restaurant's website
On restaurant sites, the same few problems come up again and again.
| Your site now | Your new site |
|---|---|
| The menu is a PDF from 2019. | The menu typed out as a web page, with prices, updated whenever your menu changes. |
| Hours on the site don't match Google. | One set of hours, identical on your site and your Google listing, holidays included. |
| “Order online” sends people to a delivery app. | A pickup button to your own ordering, with the delivery apps as a second choice. |
| A slideshow of food photos and no words. | Photos of your real dishes, each with its name, so people know what they're looking at. |
| No mention of allergens, vegetarian dishes or parking. | Those answers on the menu and the visit page, where people look for them. |
What it costs
We'll design your new website for free. You only pay if you like it.
Choose a new website, or keep the site you have and let us fix it for AI search. Everyone pays the same prices, so you'll know the cost before we start.
For a restaurant, the five pages are usually the homepage, the full menu, ordering and catering, your story with photos, and hours with directions.
The tune-up covers your business details for AI tools, answers to the questions customers ask, an llms.txt file, crawler access, page titles and descriptions, and your Google Business Profile.
New website
Keep your current site
Optional, with either
Half the website price is due when you approve the preview and the rest when the site goes live. If you need more than five pages, we'll quote it before we start. The tune-up is paid when we start. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus tax.
Questions about restaurant websites
Our menu changes often. Who updates it?
With the care plan, we do. Send us the changes, or a photo of the new menu, and we'll update the page. Because it's text, a price change doesn't mean designing a new PDF.
Do we need a website if we're on Uber Eats and DoorDash?
Yes. The apps show you next to every other restaurant in the area. Your own site is where your full menu, your story, your hours and your direct ordering live, and it's what Google and AI tools read to work out what you're known for.
Can people order pickup directly from our site?
Yes. We connect the online ordering you already use, or one you choose, like Square Online or Toast. The order button sits at the top of every page.
Can the menu show allergens and dietary information?
Yes. We can mark vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, spicy or halal dishes, and add a note about cross-contact if your kitchen handles nuts or shellfish. You tell us what you can stand behind.
Can the site take reservations?
If you use a reservation system like OpenTable or Resy, every reserve button links to it. If you take bookings by phone, the button calls you.
We'll design your new website for free. You only pay if you like it.
Tell us your restaurant's name. We'll type up your menu, hours and ordering on a new homepage and send you a private link, ready to check on your phone before service. If you'd rather keep your current site, ask for an AI search tune-up instead.
