How we rebuilt the Be Free Therapy Group website

Breana Rutledge is a Registered Psychotherapist who works with children, teens and young adults, in person in Ajax and online across Ontario. Her old Squarespace site had her motto and her blog, but search engines and AI tools found little on it to work with. The new site went live in April 2026.

AI search readiness is a score out of 100, old site then new. Speed and time are the new homepage in Google's test on a phone.

What Breana needed

Parents look for a therapist for their child, and young adults look for one for themselves. Breana wanted both to see quickly that she works with their age group, what a session costs, and that the first 15-minute call is free.

She wanted to keep her motto, "Free to be yourself and to be heard", and to be able to change her FAQ, her bio and her blog without calling anyone.

What was wrong with the old site

The old Be Free Therapy Group homepage on a computer: a mint green page with a menu, and a rounded photo of clouds and a flying bird behind the words Free to be yourself and to be heard. The old Be Free Therapy Group homepage on a phone: the cloud photo with the motto in large blue letters filling the screen, and the start of a My Services section below it.
The old Squarespace homepage.
  • An AI search readiness audit on 5 April 2026 scored the old site 52 out of 100 across its 20 pages. It scored lowest on content AI tools can quote as answers (36), on meta tags (36) and on headings (40).
  • The homepage's title in search results was just "Be Free Therapy Group", with nothing about counselling, ages or place.
  • Most of her blog posts had no description for search results, so Google picked a snippet of text itself.
  • Two blog posts still had placeholder web addresses. One ended in "Blog Post Title One" and the other in a string of random letters.
  • Her FAQ page had no FAQ markup, which is what Google and AI tools read to pick out questions and their answers.

What we built

The new Be Free Therapy Group homepage on a computer: the headline Free to be yourself and to be heard, a short description, a Book a Free 15-Min Consult button, and a photo of Breana on a couch beside a plant. The new Be Free Therapy Group homepage on a phone: an Accepting new clients badge, the headline, the ages and places she works, and a Book a Free 15-Min Consult button.
  • A page for each age group

Children 4 to 12, teens 13 to 17, young adults 18 to 29, and parents and caregivers each have their own page, so a parent and a 22-year-old both land on something written for them.

  • 32 questions, answered in groups

The FAQ has five groups, from getting started to fees and insurance, with 32 answers. They cover what people ask before booking, like whether you need a doctor's referral and what happens in a first session.

  • Her motto, next to her photo

The homepage keeps her motto, "Free to be yourself and to be heard", beside a photo of Breana, with the free 15-minute consult one tap away.

  • In person in Ajax, and online

Breana opened an office in Ajax in August 2026. The site gives its address, hours and map, and so do the business details Google and AI tools read.

  • She can edit it herself

A simple admin area lets Breana change her FAQ, her bio, her contact details and her blog without touching any code.

  • Old links work, and AI tools can read it

Her blog posts moved across, the old Squarespace addresses send people to the new pages, and the site has a guide for AI tools (llms.txt) and lets their crawlers in.

Before and after

We ran an AI search readiness audit on the old site before the rebuild, and again on the new site in October. There's no speed test of the old site on record, so speed is shown for the new site only.

Our website check opens the new site without trouble, and so do the crawlers ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity use. We checked on 14 October 2026.
